El Premio Óscar a la Mejor Canción Original es uno de los premios otorgados anualmente por la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas (AMPAS) a los compositores que han producido la mejor canción original escrita específicamente para una película. Los intérpretes de la canción no reciben el premio a menos que hayan contribuido a la música, a la letra o a ambos por derecho propio.

La categoría fue introducida en la séptima entrega de los Premios de la Academia celebrada en 1934. Las canciones nominadas son interpretadas normalmente durante la ceremonia y antes de que se entregue este premio.
